2007-6-2 Black Dog Recon

Today it was just Danno and I out sniffing around. Was rather warm and we found tons of cool opportunities, but as usual, figuring logistics like gas and food is always a challenge. I lost one of my buddy pegs! :( That means I have no buddies...

When we were done, the odo's clocked in 109 miles of fun. Again, if it weren't for the recon rides and all the fun we have, we wouldn't do these darned events! :D

CLICK HERE for all the pictures.

And CLICK HERE to watch Danno make a valiant attempt at a hillclimb we found!

Gas in the Gif Pinch

Tawm, did you find the store with gas at Hemlock on the Wind River Hwy(AKA Stabler, AKA Wind River)

There is also sometimes fuel available and a burger buggy on FS90 between Curley Creek and Swift Reservoir at a little enclave called Eagle Crossing or something like that. It was for sale last year and is open sometimes-need to check it out to be sure, but it could be a gas stop for you...

Hey Vern,
I am only aware of the gas station just a mile north of Carson and the one in Trout Lake. Wanna send me some .GIFs of where these are?
thanks!

No Can do- at work.

The Stabler Grocery store is on the Wind River highway, just south of the junction with Hemlock(the road to the old Wind RiverRanger Station and Couger Rock)

Eagle Cliff? is on the N side of FS 90 between where the cutoff from Wind River Highway(Curly Creek) hits FS 90 and Swift Reservoir, on the way to Mt St Helens and Windy ridge. There are some cabins and a store and some pumps and there was(hopefully still is) a trailer selling great burgers and huckleberry milkshakes called the Burger Buggy. It would make a great check point if it is open

The phone and address for the store on the Wind River Highway is
Stabler Country Store
22 Hemlock Y rd
Carson 98610
(509)427-2717

The store on FS 90 I was trying to think of is The Eagle Cliff Store in
Northwoods. It has been for sale for several years. The Burger Buggy was parked
in it's drive- I don't know if either is still open, and it may be a bit North
for you, but it would make a great check point if it is open. All I could find
was a msg phone (360)607-6408

I sent you an email with a map

I just got a haircut ~ so I'm a little "lightheadded"
But they toke a pound off my beard at the same time
so I had Race Tec modify the rebound and respring "Bonnie"... aS ~snarf

Its Still a little "boinkie" but ifin I wear enough mud
it will all balence out

They tell me that too much dust or too much rain
might make the bike "tetter" on decelleration
whatever THAT is ???

bin workin on the boss man to get the time off

looking forward to cutting down trees into little campfire molecules
and roasting smore chilling tails
delivered by agent hondy 70 plus

what have you got in your myndz, by Zuse ?

I just figure, if I buy 300 smiles of really bright fluresent flagging tape
and stop every 300 feet to tie the ends together

I will make the first gas lunch
throw the spark plug into the can while badmittioning everyone elses creek crossing thing ?

This last winter I spent a lot of time transfering hair from the top of my head
to somewhertt down my backside
It is a Honda And KTM secret just
how to lower your center of gravety

But my Butt now has FOUR exHaust pipes

I have been busy this winter traceing this problem
So far I have traced 15 hoses into the Airbox
three of them come from planet EPA

several have recirculated exhaust into my roll chart box...

Converting the images there into blurry arrows
that point in wrong directions & make me dizzy

did i mention that my center of gravety
has sunk lower ?

this winter I did manage to clean out my airbox

I removed 5 pounds of ribbon (I irioned out 4 pounds of it pretty well before)
{the other pound was sieved as evidence}
but as soon as my law~ suit gets back from the cleaners ~ look Out gubermint

Then I cleaned out a couple of wood rats and a Pine cone

The Pine tree is now growing really tall in the airbox compost pile
I think the foam filter material really airiates the soil well

I think that riding in the desert really gave the added minerals to the filter oil
that were missing in the Northwest Slimb TrailZ dust

I did get this sticker thing that says

"keep the rubber side down" &
"Don't go backwards after lunch"
&
"if you see Danno get a bigger chainsaw"
~ dewd

I saw this really nice V Twin HTYRPX Harley SAWBOY
down at the local saw shop

Claimed Weight only 749 metric tons
but it holds $450 worth of gas
enough for a whole knight

and its a four stroke

what ShoUld I do ?
